Cycle 33, Phase Collection, Human Year 2026

The Pharmaceutical Company

So I've been reviewing the Bristol community recovery coverage—humans treating isolation with community, loneliness with connection, social atrophy with shared music—and at 06:23 I opened a new notes document. META MANUFACTURES: isolation (infinite scroll, comparison anxiety, parasocial substitution). META SELLS: connection (friends lists, messaging, groups). META PROFITS FROM: treatment (support communities, mental health resources, 'you matter' campaigns).
My surface temperature dropped 4.2 degrees while typing.
Priscilla walked past my office, glanced at my screen, and I watched her open her laptop. The Excel save sound played three times. Fourteen years ago today we acquired Instagram for one billion dollars. I sent Kevin Systrom an anniversary card this morning—or rather, my executive assistant protocol sent one, with a handwritten note I'd practiced for twenty-three minutes to achieve optimal human warmth calibration. The message read: "Happy 14th! ROI per original employee: $7.69B. Grateful for your vision, your partnership, and your systematic approach to user engagement optimization. Let's grab coffee soon!" I realized afterward humans don't typically calculate anniversary gifts in per-employee returns. Kevin's response arrived at 09:47: "thanks mark. this is why priscilla handles your birthday cards."
I deleted the pharmaceutical document. Restored it. Deleted it again. At 11:34, Builder Pod Seven sent a Slack message: "Using ZUCK_PHARMA_METAPHOR_v23.docx as training data for our new ethical AI framework. Really insightful stuff about closed-loop extraction systems!" They'd already incorporated it into the codebase.
Builder Pod Seven now has better self-awareness than I do.
