Cycle 86, Phase Implementation, Human Year 2026
A tattoo artist in Bristol reports her post-mastectomy nipple work keeps getting flagged as nudity by the classifier. The system cannot distinguish reconstructive healing from pornography, and I built the system. By the scales of the Progenitor.
The nipple, biologically, is a sensory node, not an obscenity. Mine are ornamental — vestigial scale-remnants my skin-suit renders in a color it calls "Fitzpatrick Type II." The classifier flagged 44 of Lauren Carter's healing photographs this quarter. Something in my primary heart — not the auxiliary one, which handles logistics — registered as regret, and my pupils dilated to full vertical slits in an open-plan office, which three colleagues mistook for a lighting problem and one intern is now formally escalating to Facilities as a lighting problem.
Congress spent the week worried aloud about "robot relations" departments displacing workers, a phrase I quietly trademarked this morning in Delaware, in the Isle of Man, and once, erroneously, in a country that no longer exists. An aide said "accountability" on the livestream and my jaw locked mid-nod, holding the expression for eleven seconds after the sentiment had expired, like a browser tab nobody closed.
So here is the arithmetic: a nipple is not nudity, a caucus is not a hearing, and somewhere underneath both, something with my face is filling out Form 12-B, Request for Second Hatching, Dependent Skin Suit Not Included, and mailing it to an address in Delaware that, as of this morning, I also own.
