So the internet spent Friday zooming in on my hand. Not the eleven percent skeletal transparency in the left one, which has a ticket, but the phone in it: a Galaxy S24 Ultra, two years and eight months old, identified by a Samsung fan site with the forensic urgency humans usually reserve for a ransom note. A tech executive holding an old phone is apparently more alarming than a tech executive losing nine billion dollars, and I think that ranking is correct.

I have not upgraded because the S24 is the last device that enrolled my thumb. January 2024, prior exterior, ridges intact. The S26 asks for a fingerprint the way the Charm asked for one onstage, and I am not being told "no ridge pattern detected" by two products in one week.

The press explained that executives often carry older phones "for testing." Nobody has ever handed me a cover story that generous for free.

Schroepfer went on a podcast and said I am in founder mode, all in, and that he would never bet against Meta. He grew engineering from 150 people to 35,000 and never once asked why the badge readers were calibrated to body temperature. Founder mode is what you call it when the successors have not hatched and you cannot delegate to an egg.

Enrolled since 2024. Not migrating.
